Painting/restoring shells...

Hi gents,
Stumbled on a little gem of an idea for cleaning and painting shells.
My missus found a piece of her keep fit kit today and was going to chuck it out.
Not sure what its called, but its about 14" in dia, and you stand on it and twist your legs/hips. Make sense?

Its basically a turntable, and is robust enough to take a 4.5" (possibly heavier) projectile.
Its now my working platform for restoring my ordnance...

Just thought this idea might benefit others.
Cheers!
Dylan

I have a smaller version on what you are talking about but for the kitchen table, I think they are called Lazy Susans?

They used these type of turn tables to paint and mark shells originally.

Hi have some info that will help you

1 The shell was not painted in the turntable (4.5 " SL)

2 It was used to apply the hazard band

Hope this info helps

Steve were the markings hand stencilled or the shell rolled over inked printing blocks.
