Pair of 3 pdr projectiles mounted on plinths - book ends?

Ok, perhaps not one for the purist, but found these the other day.
I believe these are 3pdr Hotchkiss common projectiles, mounted on plinths, perhaps as bookends.

What is nice about them though, is that they havent been ruined, they are actually sympathetically mounted using the original fuze threads.
One has a 12 on it, I am guessing that this could be a date?

Here are a few photos.....

regards Kev

Hi Kev,
Thats a good find, nothing wrong with those that a bit of chrome removal would not fix.
Best regards Weasel.
