The same bodies were used for a number of different submunitions. The designation was dependent on the specific combination of body style, fuzing utilised, and fin design. Originally the bomblet body would have been covered in a plastic "skin". Your submunition bodies would could have been used as one of the BLU-24, BLU-66 or BLU-40 series. Here is a photo of some complete items, only one with the skin remaining.
