I have 2 pieces of German 37x94 cases dated 1934 and 1935. They are the beforementioned sub-calibre cases used by the German Kriegsmarine. The common German name for these is the Abkomm.K.

No , none found in Canada by me and one case offered on S.A. was far to much for me with out projectile. :tinysmile_cry_t2:

Just a question perhaps, I've been collecting these 37mm c97/98 shells for a year or two, and the strange thing is, I have karlsruhe shells from 1898,1900,1902,03,04,05,06 but haven't and have never seen shells from 99 or 01... were these very limited in production perhaps?

I have over 20 cases and also lack those years. I know I have a reference somewhere.....I will look it up.

In a reference I found both headstamps so they do exist. Just keep looking Nolfster! They are produced from 1898 up to 1906.

thank you very much for this post!
I only collect imperial navy 37 mm, so the ones with the imperial crown.
The ones I meant were the ones with C97/98.
Two weeks ago I bought one from 1899 at a flea market :

with the weird lotnr '7a', any idea why? (the 'a' also seems stamped afterwards)
So that adds to my list of C97/98's with shells now from 99,00,02,03,04,05 and 06..

I have a casing marked "PATRONENFABRIK KARLSRUHE" and 1915 and 19A (or 119A). Diameter is about 40 mm. Is this a flak projectile from WW1 (looking at the above thread)? I would be grateful for any information about this item eg where used, theatre etc. Tks.

Likely yes if it looks like the above cases with the screw in primer. In 1915 these were also used in revolving cannon in positions in the trenches with canister, those loadings may have been small primer (non unscrewing) commercial type casings brought out in a hurry. The German Army had revolving cannon, but there were fortress guns and were not in service actively as they had been replaced by 56mm (I think) Gruson cannon. But in 1915 they were hauled out and used, so a variety of old ammunition stocksor or available commercial low explosive were used, but in photographs all you see are canister, commercial style cases dated 1914 & 1915 are encountered. The German 1 Pr Maxims which the above post casings are for were remounted for land AA use and both Navy and Army cases were used over and over, the last use going by the primer date. The screw in primer was the military standard, the small push in kind was a sort of alternate and not likely reloaded or continued past 1915.
