Just a question perhaps, I've been collecting these 37mm c97/98 shells for a year or two, and the strange thing is, I have karlsruhe shells from 1898,1900,1902,03,04,05,06 but haven't and have never seen shells from 99 or 01... were these very limited in production perhaps?
In a reference I found both headstamps so they do exist. Just keep looking Nolfster! They are produced from 1898 up to 1906.
I don't have one from this short date period -
