Pictures. Lots of pictures.

So I got a cheap ($20) photo "booth". Intentions are to make a digital catalog of the accumulated stuff in the OrdHut. And ultimately use it as a sales tool. Right now, just rummaging through, taking pics of random and assorted things. Testing the new booth, and iPhone camera. It came with 1/2 dozen backgrounds. And a variable LED lighting system. Trying out as many of those options as is practical.
Have tentaively settled on the blue, but tested them all.
The quality of the iPhone camera amazes me. Other than cropping, no photoshopping was required.

Here's some random stuff:

These came out awesome. I need to buy one of these now. The pictures look studio quality.

PS: I gotta ask, what is theroundl with the red windscreen looking part suspended above the main projectile body (TEST #4)
PSS: Ho about some MORE PICS! :)

I forget the details. It has three .22cal blanks in the top of the projectile. Not sure if it's just a marking round or has an explosive effect.

Rick, having spent a bunch of time in photography and videography classes, something is bound to sneak into the brain. Nothing compares to the human eye as far as color recognition. Cameras both video and still cannot record the detail the human eye can see. Contrast, black to white also aggravates trying to record details. Having an item that contains both black and white colors prevents detail because you have the full spectrum. If you want to capture the most detail in a photo, pick a background color that is close to the color of the target item. You will capture much more detail.

Blue is my favorite color, but I wouldn't use it as a background for everything.

Experiment some more. Find an item with lots of details you want to capture. Try different background colors, only changing the background and nothing else. You will see what I'm talking about.

If you look at photo test 33. The blue practice round in back has enormous detail with the blue background, but the orange round to the right of it shows practically none.

Hey HAZ

Thanks for the input. I see what you mean with Test 33. And, it makes sense. I note, too, that the lighting plays a huge part in all this. The LED ring had a tendency to "adjust" itself. It would dim after a couple of minutes and I would hit the (+) button to brighten things back up. As this initial run was for fun, I'll be getting down to business with a more ergonomic set up and system of item selection. Considering the quantity and variety, I don't think this will be a weekend project. An "eating an elephant" process.

Got them from a former Marine Cpl. He had them made up by a local(Iraq) vendor to commemorate the places he'd visited over two tours. Had some financial issues and started unloading things. Paid way too much, but was for a good cause.
