Please help any info on this WW1 Pocket Barometer

Folks I'm of an oppinion that this is a WW1 aviator pocket barometer ( Ballonist?) the dial on the top adjusts similar to a primatic compas to set altitude it was made by Henry Khann & Co , San francisco and that is all I know, hear say is that it was used by Arty spotters but open to any idea's.
