Please help with this 26,3 mm projectile

Could some one please help me identify this projectile ?

Diameter at base : 26.3 mm

Diameter on driving band : 29.5 mm

Length : 86.4 mm

Not very visible in photo, but has a brass tip 8.4 mm in length.

The projectile has been filled with lead, but this might have been done afterwards.

What caliber was this and was there any color coding involved?

I hate to put a downer on your projectile but it may be a trench art item.
The driving band stands too proud of the body.
The profile looks wrong.
The brass tip doesn't seem right either.
I stand to be corrected of course.
Dave.

I saw something very similar in an antique shop in London about 10 years ago. The one I saw had a broken driving band.

I didn't buy it as I thought it was not a real projectile and they wanted too much money for it.
