As seems usual these days am unable to upload photos.
When i press "choose files" it just freezes up and goes no further.
I wonder why

So here are some measurements that perhaps are sufficient for ID
No fuze or adaptor...

Length 184mm
Width below driving band 75.8mm
Width on fired driving band 78.1mm
Width on bourrelet 76.1mm
Base to driving band 47mm
Driving band thickness 11.2mm

No crimp groove
No visible markings
HE or shrapnel presumably

Many thanks

Hi,

I think the problem for the pictures comes from your side. Maybe from the browser itself if you don't use a major like Firefox or Chrome, or from an extension (adblocker, cookie manager, vpn...). Try to disable all your extensions before a new attempt to upload a picture or try with another browser (without installing anything, you can find "portable" versions of almost every browser).

Cheers,

S.

Also the photo size is a big issue. You can’t upload photos with a size greater than about 200kb, and I’ve found that about 100kb or less is best.
if you are taking a photo using your phone and trying to directly upload that the uploader will have a meltdown. You need to reduce the photo size down using a sizing or editor app, or email it to yourself and choose a small image size.

OK thank you both for the useful advice.
I do all this stuff on my phone ...live up in the bush so facilities like wifi are not available but i usually can get 4G mobile data.
Do normally change camera settings to low pixels and then crop to reduce further.
And in the past i have been succesful.
My browser is Duckduckgo.
Anyway great tip to email to myself first.
Shall try again

Yes most mobile phones these days will take a photo with a resolution around 1-2MB, which is far too large to upload and changing the phone's photo resolution down still from past experiences produces large size file which still exceed the upload limit.

Solution 1:
Search and download to your phone an equivalent "PAINT" /Photo Editor application from google /apple store with the resize function and bypass the WIFI /PC process below:

Solution 2:
If you have say a PC wifi laptop /desktop...........

1) Turn on your mobile phone WIFI hotspot functionality;
2) Connect your PC WIFI to the phone's WIFI - you now have PC internet connectivity via your phone 4G network
3) Most Windows OS comes with the PAINT application
4) Transfer your phones photos to the PC laptop
5) Paste your photos into PAINT
6) Select the "RESIZE" tab
7) Change the percentage down from 100% to 20%
8) Save the image
9) Voila! Your photo resolution will now be approx around the 140-250Kb (reduced down from 1-2Mb)
10) Upload to BOCN

Happy Days!!!

Cheers
Drew

Hi,

It's a random picture just to prove size does not really matter.
This one is 4019x2672px, the file is 6Mo
It took 15 seconds to upload it (I have a poor internet connection) and the "insert image" dialog box froze during upload.
And it was resized automatically during or after the upload to 1791x1191px

yes you're right - just upload a 2.1Mb photo (refer to 1st post) - and it was resized automatically - disregard my garble then! :tinysmile_twink_t2:

However I did noticed that the image was presented "side ways" and not vertical as the original..................

Even Happier days now!
(They must have updated the forum S/W version)
Cheers

When did the upload functionality change to auto reduce the oversize files?

As Darkman pointed out, there was a small file upload limit a while back, and most annoying changing the resolution size down to "fit" inside the limit.

OK i have finally managed to upload this photo.
All hints and tips were welcome. However none were successful.
I never used to have any problems at all. If the file was too large it would automatically be resized (which would take a few minutes sometimes).
But recently it does not work that way... or haha ...any way.
To achieve this today i have moved photo to laptop and taken it to a source of wifi.
