Please ID this Submunition / Bomb Thanks

Can anyone ID this Submunition or Bomb for me

it measures 425mm by 50mm approx and is armed by way of an impellar in the tail.

Never seen, looks a bit more like a small practice bomb rather than a submunition.

no positive id ,,just a guess it looks like its WW1 era airdrop like the sort they would throw out of the aircraft

The brass makes me thing of some naval device for what ever probing, mine clearance or the like. Just a thought.
