Possible 4 cm Bofors case from development phase 1933

I recently acquired a case that I assumed would be 37 mm. Now that I have it, it seems to be a 40 mm case with the same length and rim diameter as a 40 mm Bofors. However, the thickness of the rim clearly differentiates from a normal Swedish made 40 mm Bofors. Where a normal 4 cm case has a 6 mm thick rim, this specific case has a 4 mm rim. The case is dated 1933 which is the earliest date I have ever seen on a 4 cm Bofors case. I can only assume this is a case made during the development phase of the 4 cm Bofors. Any thoughts?
