How about some kind of V C Grenade Fuze, something like this one, I have some other pics elsewhere and I'm sure they can vary quite a bit ?

I agree, the construction and design is very similar for Vietnamese grenades.

The best pic I could find at short notice, not my particular area, but I had an idea that some of these grenades are actually quite big. It certainly looks a bit like one of the fuzes from a grenade on this picture, I'm sure one of our US friends will have better images to show.
