Hello
Can anyone please tell me when the US started painting their Practice projectiles blue ? Was it after WW2 when Nato systems were introduced ? I am particularly referring to 57mm ammunition.
Thank you all in advance

As I understand it, the 57mm US Prac M76 was blue, but I am open to suggestions on that. Thank you for your replies.

1944 dated ordnance manuals only show M70 AP and M86 APCBC rounds for the 57mm. No HE or practice rounds. Of course, we know there was an HE (I have one), but I have never seen a reference or evidence of an M76 TP.

I have just researched one of the excellent downloads on this site, brilliant what you can find here.....TM 9- 1904 dated March 1944 and on page 380 it lists 57mm TP-T M76 as well as the M70 and M86.
