pre 1924 Vintage.. M24

Not the normal M24,, These were made in 1924 or earlier and were the for-runner for the M24 as we know them today, 100% original piece, I have only added the top collar and bottom thread for looks, the top collar is an exact fit , even the screw holes line up perfetly to the original holes in the handle.

The top is a disc that sits into a groove in the the top of the can and the top edge of the can is rolled over to close it in place.
Bottom threads are made seperatly, then attached with a fuse well inside the can, the thread has for flanges that were spot welded in place with the fuse well.
The can itself does not appear to deep drawn but spun then with the botton closed of then drilled out for the fuse well...better piccs later. ( if any has better info on this part please post )

If anyone has documentation on these i would gladly appreciate it.

Date stamps appeared in 1925 as a letter format as follows.
RRA = 1925,
RRZ = 1926,
RRM = 1927,
RRT = 1928,
RRR = 1929,
RRB = 1930,
RRE = 1931,
RRO = 1932,
RRN = 1933,
RRK = 1934,
RRG = 1935

( Thank's Jo )

Regards Nick

DON"T GO YET NICK!!!!!!!! I am still making my wants list also can you go back to 1968 when my wife was 3 years old and tell her parents to smack her very hard every time she uses the word " NO " you will not believe how much eazier it will make my life! OH and that grenade looks great
Kind regards Daryl { soon to regain control of the household once nick fixes things up.}

And then could you nip back to 1953 when my ex wife was conceved and get her dad to use a condom?:xd:

Please!
Tony

Thanks mate! been thinking about it though,probably better if you threw a grenade at them for the following reasons;
a) would get this thread back to grenades before I get into trouble(I personaly blame Paul as he started it!)
b) they were Catholics,so the grenade would be easier than getting them to use dunkers
c) no one would take any notice of the resulting bang as they were in N.I.

Promise not to mess about anymore as I had bit of a scare this morning with this! guess who was born on the 25th April 1954???? spooky!:tinysmile_shutup_t2
