Primer adjustment on 6-pounder case

Today I found this interesting case, I decided to take it because of the primer that shows an adapter to fit the small primer. I remember I have seen such an adapter before, but I forgot where....

I have seen similar adapters used in some war time 40mm British Bofors cases.

Interesting. I have one of the Bofors ones, but I've never seen a 6 Pounder before.
