Can someone identify the projectile in the attached pictures please.
The only information i have is what's below, and i'm waiting to see if i can get a picture of the complete round, prior to destruction.

Diameter approx 149mm (although it may be slightly larger)

Recovered in Northern Italy

Contained a liquid fill (exactly what, is to be confirmed)

As you can see on the X-ray image and the first picture, the ogive screws on to the body of the projectile and the central burster extends into the lower compartment.

Hi Pete,

I never seen a 149 mm with this organization. It's seems to be italian but with central burster entering in the lower compartment... I don't see. Did you analyze the liquid ? Thanks the pictures.

Hi,
thanks for sharing. As MYGALE says, seems italian, but very strange.
X-ray shows the fuze is screwed in a junction. The diaphragm it's machined to accept the burster. Very interesting.
