Projectile in trench, 1915 photo, with writing on side

This photo was taken in 1915 or possibly early 1916. The British infantry officer has his arm around some sort of a projectile that presumably landed near his trench. Would this be from an artillery piece or from an aircraft? I've rotated the projectile to aid in reading the stencil. I really appreciate your help!

It's effectively a French trench mortar 58T of 45 kg with a IT fuze Mle 1915 (third picture to let see the fuze on another 58T mortar bomb)
