Querie about Aden experimental rounds.

I have just obtained 2 Aden rounds both 50's & 60's vintage with no loading information only manufacturer and date as you would expect from experimental rounds.
Questions:
The purple stripe on the duck egg blue projectile RG 1960 I'm assuming denotes a proof round?
Why are 2 target practice projectiles fused?

The violet (official name for the purple) stripe on the proj. simply identifies an experimental round. It could be anything, different powder, primer, whatever.

Aden TP projs have a dummy fuze which extends down into the body of the shell to make up weight. Internals of 4z are slightly different to 2z.

Attached drawings of the Prac 2z and 4z.

Cheers Tony for the info but what i was trying to get across is the fact that both projectiles are fitted with actual type 933 fuzes

Ah, did not look close enough! My only suggestion is that they were fuze tests but that is only a guess, although perhaps supported by the markings on the second fuze.

Cheers Tony thats one thing i hadnt though of fuze testing, but appart from that im at a loss

Typical of "Fuze test" projectiles as Tony E states.
Nice and unusual rounds Harley.
Another thing is that the Purple marking also appears on "Linking" rounds when you get a box of app 28 rounds it comes with a loose round for joining the belt to the next belt and this "linking" round usually had a large splash of Purple over the top of the projectile, although sometimes it was a line or even a ring:confused:
