Question on 40mm shell marking

Hello,

I have this dummy cartridge (drilled holes) on which there is a marking with the letter M W in a 3/4 circle. See image 426a2.jpg. Does anybody know the meaning of this symbol?
Who can tell me the meaning of the letter combination "R . V . Anvil" in the picture 426a3.jpg?
