Has anyone ever seen Jap ammo linked together this way before? Found this way by US forces on New Georgia in late 1943. I'm curious as to what was going on....
Yes, these were used in the Japanese Type 89 aircraft gun, not to be confused with the Type 89 Vickers weapon.
The clips were refered to as the "magazine transporter" and the gun stripped each round out of the clip into the feed mechanism before moving on to the next clip.
