Question on Mills bomb filler plugs...

Was the WW2 vintage no. 36 ever used with a brass filler plug, or were they all those grayish colored zinc filler plugs?

Hi bud,

interwar No 36s, very rare, used brass filler screws from WW1 stock along with aluminium centre tubes rather than zinc alloy.
Some very early WW2 36s will have had brass fillers, again from WW1 stock but they very soon went over to the zinc alloy fillers.
