If you Google Ranken Dart, all of the photos and drawings show a dart like yours, except they don't have the fins on the tail, but instead they show a small parachute like item.
So, were there multiple designs? There is another thread on BOCN about the dart, but it is the other design.

The drawings below show ones without fin. The central photo taken from elsewhere on BOCN shows one with a fin (its the one you put a link to, the fin is top RHS in the box), the photo on the right taken from the IWM site shows one without (of interest, and as would be expected, the tin container that looks like a shell case that the wire arms fold into is shorter on the IWM version that doesn't have fins).
I don't, Dave, sorry. It was on the old IAA FORUM many years ago. If I remember correctly, it was almost exactly like that sectioned example mounted in the wood display.
