Repro Ammo Box Stencils

5th Armored

Well-Known Member
Hi All-
I'm working on a reproduction box for a KwK 43 and I have found a good font to use for the lettering, but the method of applying has me a little confused. Based on the spacing and bits like the inside of letters like O, P, e and a it looks like the stencils might have been applied with some type of stamp rather than painted on through a sheet type stencil. I can't see how a sheet stencil could be cut to leave the letters as they appear on the box. Anybody have any info on this?
Cheers
Chris

Most "stencils" were actually applied with big rubber stamps. So, if it appears to be stamped, it probably was.
