Reproduction/fake Japanese type 4 ceramic grenades

I've heard about reproduction Japanese type 4 ceramic grenades coming from Mexico, but no more information a than that. Can anyone here confirm that this is true, and if so, provide any information about how to identify the fakes?
 
Mexico is only the latest. Plenty of fakes from Japan and China as well. Some are exceptionally well done. Best advice is buy only from old collections being liquidated, anything else is suspect as well as the fanciful stories that go with them.
