I have been trying for months to locate a correct safety lever (spoon) for the M26 or M30 series US grenades, or a complete correct reproduction grenade. I am in the process of trying to locate an M26A1 or M30 training grenade of Vietnam war vintage for a USMC historical display and cannot find these safety levers anywhere at all.

Could anyone point me towards a possible source, or is anyone out there willing to sell me at least the correct long curved lever correct to these grenades?

Thanks to all.

Hi Clancey, If you're not already, you might want to keep an eye on gunbroker. They always seem to have one grenade fuze or another. I have not paid close enough attention to notice if they're what you're looking for. Just a thought. Best...Dano

I have a spare M204A2 spoon as used on the M26, M26A1 and M61. It's got some wear but has nice, clear markings. PM me or email me at Gtr003121@aol.com and I'll see what else I can dig up for you in the meantime.

I have had success with finding the spoons I sought, now I need to find the rest of the grenade.

Would anyone have any possible sources for M26 type grenade bodies that are not those cheap cast things sold in surplus stores?

If so, please let me know. Thanks to all here.

Assistance and photos sought...

I now have the body, fuze and spoon for the M26 I needed in my display. Now, who can tell me what was used to seal the bottom of an M26 series grenade? Can anyone provide a photo of the bottom of one of these grenades?

Thanks to all.

The US M26 Series Grenade Bases were sealed with a metal cap containing a piece of fragmentation material on the interior, that was crimped to the base of the grenade body. An example of an M26 Cap that was removed from a grenade body is shown in the attached photo. I do not know of any current source for one of these base caps.
