Hi
Has anyone got photos of a Mills no 5 made by Revo
I have found photos of the number 36
Or did Revo not make the no 5

Martin

There are REVO No 5 Brass baseplugs from 1916 but they are quite rare. I think their production really got going with the No 23 MkII which is more common.

The photo is of a REVO Mills, actually a Jan 1917 No.23II - there is sound provenance of body and base plug being together since WWI.

Until 1916 REVO was Cable Accessories Ltd, but in late 1916 it became REVO Electric Company Ltd. Cable Accessories was awarded a contract in November 1916 for indefinite supply of No.5 and then No.23 MkII grenades at the rate of 10,000 per week, but with the change of name used the REVO monogram. It may just be coincidence that the body is marked CA.
