Reward for a bit of digging.

I was visiting my sister in Kent and helping with a bit of digging in the garden. I turned this up and recognised the shape (even covered in mud), because I found one in the same garden about 50 years ago.

There was a searchlight battery on our land during the war, I expect the guns were not far away20240704_140630.jpg20240704_140546.jpg.
 
Possibly converted to AA use because of the wooden dowel plug in place of the percussion detonator
