Can someone please remind me what weapon fired these practice RGD 5 grenades ? I believe they were East German and originally came in the box pictured. Many thanks.
Just came across this thread and was thinking it is odd that the DDR then seem to be the only Warsaw Pact nation (including the Soviet Union) that seem to have persisted in launching hand grenades from rifles... AFAIK all others had purpose-made rifle grenades (except perhaps Soviets, who had RPG and AGS grenade launchers which might be used perhaps for same purposes). Is there any reasoning behind this?
Usually used with the AS-37 ÜB detonator in black color and with a different thread compared to the live version. It is a very simple fuze, only the spring holds the striker back.
