Must have been one of the first to die outside of Pearl Harbor. Every death a tragedy for a family.
 
I decided to attach this MCAS Cherry Point patch from the bottom of the display, looks like a vintage one, even though they still fly Harriers. Maybe of interest to patch collectors.

Today, Dec.13th, the following happened.

In 1941, during World War II, American forces on Wake Island surrendered to the Japanese.
In 1948, former Japanese premier Hideki Tojo and six other Japanese war leaders were executed in Tokyo.
