I'm trying to ID this piece. From a distance I thought it was the base of a case modern 'trench art'. But on closer inspection it appears strange.
There are three equally spaced holes in the vertical wall, which itself is made from brass with a heavy steel liner. It is 17cm in diameter. Does anyone know what this once was?
