RPA Omega sign .50 case with red painted base and primer

Primetake loads these (their factory is near Lincoln). They make sniper and other specialist ammo.

Here is the info I posted on the IAA forum several years ago after direct correspondence and conversation with the Sales Manager at Rangemaster Precision Arms.
"The PTL omega 12.7 x 99 is a match grade round available with a solid brass 800 grain bullet or an Armour Piercing bullet, made by Primetake Limited in England, UK. and developed for the RPA Rangemaster .50 Tactical Rifle.
Rangemaster Precision Arms Ltd, supply PTL Omega match ammunition with the PTL omega headstamp, not the RPA headstamp.
The RPA headstamped ammunition was made in a very small amount (quantity not known) for a specific procurement demonstration of the RPA rifle in late 2007. This was supplied to Rangemaster Precision Arms Ltd by Primetake Ltd.
I don't yet know why some of the spent cases seen have red case-head overpainting. If anyone knows why, the information would be appreciated."
Further to this in a slightly later email exchange with RPA in August 2012 Ron Fuchs Jr was told slightly different information;
"The RPA omega was produced for a foreign military force and we only took delivery of approx 100 rounds which were all used about 8 years ago in Wales"
The RPA omega was produced before the sales manager (that myself and Ron Jr corresponded with) had joined Rangemaster Precison Arms, so he was relying on asking questions to others within the company.
Certainly, not many RPA Omega were produced. Rangemaster themselves took delivery of only about 100 from Primetake Ltd. They were used in demonstration in Wales. Production date was most likely 2007 but could be a bit earlier.

This thread prompted me to look again, and I found an update on the IAA post by Fede;
"both the PTL and RPA cases were made by Igman in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The RPA headstamp was actually made when the company's designation was RPA International Ltd., and not Rangemaster Precision Arms Ltd. as mentioned above, which is the designation used since 2011."

Just noticed that both of the (inerted, drilled case) .50 cal rounds I was given on a visit to Primetake several years ago have the RPAΩ headstamp. One has the solid brass bullet, the other a grey-coloured API about which they were rather coy at the time...
