In need of some cleaning and "coloring" and missing a piece or two. Am curious if the fuze parts are all there and on the hunt for an appropriate primer.
Yes. Another gem in the lot. Still "finding" stuff.
And a thanks is in order to Mr. Anthony Williams for having the round pictured on his site, otherwise I would have had an issue with IDing it.
The shell has a very 40mm Bofor-ish look to it, which was my first thought. Am imagining it had a similar clip.
Rick, From what I can see of the fuze (should be a A-37 or b-37), it looks like it has all of the parts. If you take it apart, you should have a eccentric det rotor which rotates downward, 2 retaining pins for the rotor which is withdrawn by centrifugal force, a set back primer and anti creep spring which hits a fixed firing pin that initiates the self destruct, and a powder train ring that sits on the bottom of the housing that flashes through for the self destruct. Cheers, Bruce.
Rick, looked at again and I might be missing something, but the det rotor looks either gone or in the wrong place. Could you PM me with the nomenclature on the fuze and some bigger pix? I can look it up in the pubs and see exactly what you've got. Cheers, Bruce.
Thanks to Bruce's input, I went digging and found this in one of the resident fuze manuals. So yep, missing a few bits and pieces in the fuze, as well. Clicking on pics will embiggen.
