Russian SRG-66 anti diver grenade

EOD and Hootch,

Thanks for the great photos of the Russian grenade. Very interesting to see their version of the anti-frogman type.

Here are a couple more of the same breed, a German DM119 and one from Singapore. And yes, leave it to the Germans to come up with a complex, double hydrostatic fuze.

Rick

Ordnance, the one you show is a "diver signal", not meant for combat purpose. You are right the fuze here is also somewhat above the average.

The German anti frogmen grenade I had in mind is the DM221. It has a cylindrical shape and comes with two charge weights. One of 50 gram (as a signal charge only) and one of 500 gram. The body is of aluminum and colored golden. When it goes dud it is self arming again. This one is very little known to the public.

Once you mention Singapore I'd like to mention that Bulgaria is also making some such grenades including a 40mm for grenade launchers - that makes them pretty unique. The Spanish one was already shown above.

Here also not to forget the Russian 55mm stationary grenade launcher (forgot the designation now) and also the hand held DP-64 which fire also anti frogmen grenades (rockets). Both weapons have the same caliber but the ammo is not interchangeable.

Here an image of the DM221 from a Rheinmetall catalog on naval ordnance. The only image I have seen in public so far.

Very nice sample. There are also new 40mm varieties of anti-diver munitions. I have a photo somewhere...

Found it. Sorry it's so small... I hate photo programs...
