S mine container ?

I procured this container on E bay, I believe it is for the transport of 3 S mines.
The shape is strange as the container has rounded corners.
Does anybody have more information???
The dimensions are 35 cm, 13 cm wide and 15 cm high with in additional 2 cm high lid.
The mine was not included, I have put it in to check for the dimensions.
On the lid there is a date (1943) and a manufacturer code (gnx).
The box seems to have been made for 3 items (I hope S mines). Are there parts missing of this container (it seems the items would have been very loose and could be damaged during transport).

Yes, that's for S-Mines. Sadly (like most of them) its missing the internal brackets.
