Hi Guys, How do much do you think this is worth. No det. plugs or filling plug.

I know who this one belongs to and what its selling for. There are a few mines out there in this condition. price wouldn't be as bad if you could get hold of the measurements to copy the missing bits.
Anyone out there who has these measurements or a good direct top view of a drawing of the top plate or copy the actual plate with either a photocopy or scanner. Could anyone be so kind to help out with a vernier, would much be appreciated. Alternately has anyone got a det plug/ filling plug and top nut (doesn't have to be prefect as long as measurements and thread sizes can be taken from it)for sale. Or if your local or know of anyone local where i could meet up and measure myself. Willing to help any fellow S-Mine collector.:)

Hi BMG, I'm new to S_mines and if you know the owner of this one, then you know why I asked. For anyone else reading this the price requested is 75.00. The seller said he would sell it to me at this price but told me that they were actually illegal so he would send it but would not be responsible for it So I have to make my mind up to take the chance. There is a chap who asked me for dimensions as he has the same problem as your self ,sizes. He can actually machine the parts. I also sent a PM to another member asking if he could help with measurements but soon after I received an e-mail from the guy
with his offer. So I am at dead end, not sure what to do or even proceed with anything.

Hopefully we can all help each other.Hope someone reads this and helps out.
I think this illegal bit only concerns army's having anti-personnel mine not collectors (that has to be clarified) It funny you can have a Teller mine but not an AP mine. Teller mines and such the like were AP up with light more sensitive fuze's and booby trapped etc, still does the same job , kill and maim.

Thanks mate, My real ineterest is explosives, German, British and English. I re-enact Royal Engineers. I am making some plastic and wood S_mines to go in a crate for display purposes. That was going to be the end for me. Until this chap contacted me about sizes and found what I thought was near enough was not any good for him. So I have been trying to help. He said he would make some det plugs and filler plugs for me for my efforts. And I as I said one thing led to another. I know how difficult it is to get info that is why I was considering just giving up.

I bought a british pamphlet on ebay the other day, mine warfare, which has cracking info on the s mine and fuses etc, gives basic dimensions and some good pics with different fuses, could photo copy and send to you if you want?Might help,Tony.

That would be great, I have some stuff myself but none of it shows the diameter of the det.plugs or filler plugs or the size of the threaded section, which we believe might be 10mm fine. I thought that all four lay on the same radius of 22mm from the centre. Now I am not sure. Maybe if BMG and I can get this info and my friend is happy then we have a machinist who could join us. Self help as BMG said. The we all win. In fact I have taken the advice from my friend and decided not to go for the mine.

My pic shows 3 x plugs at 120 degrees to the center, with a larger plug between 2 of them, this is the S mine 35,by the way.If you Pm me with your address i,will send the info on,if it helps its a bonus,Tony.:)

Depends where the seller is from i would imagine?
I got one of my S-mines from germany with no probs?

As long as the mine can be stripped, then labelled FFE and a note in the box with sellers full details then i see no probs whatsoever.

best

Thank you for that. With advice I have decided that I will not proceed. Your extra info. is extremely helpful. The seller is from Jersey. But this is not the main reason. I believe that if you have a doubt about buying anything just walk away, something or sometime the thing you really want will turn up.

I have no doubts about the chap after talking to him the doubt was in myself. I have his mobile number and I will be giving him a call. He may still have something else that I am interested in so we hopefully may do a deal anyway.
