SAP MK 5 Bomb

New member, my first post / intro , want to share a recent find, saved from the scrap yard. From the stampings and measurements 41.6 in x11.5 in, looks to be a SAP MK V bomb, it is stamped top to bottom V , SAP 500LB , JMI 10/43. I believe it is an M, a little hard to read. 2 holes 7/16 Dia are drilled into the case ,in line with the suspension lug, inspected with a camera, empty( yes I was concerned ) before finding those mud , rust plugged holes. Any measurements available for the tail asembly and ring as I would like to fabricate one. Only specks of green paint survives, any opinions on sand blasting/ wire brushing or leave as is.
I have been more into military vehicles all these years , but finding this forum is another avenue to explore and learn.
Thanks J5 Muskeg

The tail for the SAP 500 lb. Mk V is the No. 11 Mk I or the No. 27 Mk I.
In 1942 only the No. 11 Mk I tail was in use. So the No. 27 Mk I must be introduced later for this bomb.
