SC 500 Markings

Hi to all

Restoration on the 500 has begun and cleaning of the rust
revealed some nice markings.

What is it you are using to remove the rust-whatever it is it looks very effective.

Look forward to seeing the whole restoration job when complete.

Hi Chris

Some steel can patinate without rusting right through,and stay as surface rust for years.

There is obvious pits on the casing but using a heavy cup wire brush that goes on to an angle grinder is by far the best way.

Be sure to use safety goggles as the wires tend to fly out (as good as little darts) due to excessive use.

Hi Chris

I am torn for the colour scheme as inside the casing is a good
amount of grey paint but aperantly these casings were painted
sky blue,so i think i will do it by the evidence in front of me.

she will be stenciled up once i have replaced a section of the side
of the casing and made repro fuse pockets,as these have been cut
out by whoever disarmed it.

Tail fins would be nice but thats another venture.
