Here's a new addition to the collection, a near mint practice 66mm vehicle launched riot grenade. as far as i know it was not adopted by the British army but may well have been sold commercially by Schermuly. maybe to police forces?? any more info would be welcome.
Cheers, Paul.

Hi Paul,

Nice grenade - I bought one from the Project X website and they still have one listed on their website:

http://www.project-x.org.uk/ordnance.html

According to Jane's Security and Co-In Equipment 1988:

"The 66mm Vehicle Discharged Grenade has been developed to be fired from any 66 mm discharger commonly used with armoured vehicles. The grenade consists of a discharger base fitted with an electrical jackplug contact and the grenade payload screwed to the base. Both parts of the grenade are ejected from the discharger leaving no debris. The grenade is fitted with a pull-ring to enable it to be removed from the discharger if not fired.
Grenades of all types are available with non-irritant payloads of orange smoke for training"

Cheers,

Gary

I have a 2 listings on a British military classifications list for 66mm Grenade Dischargers. Designated L160A1 ad L161A1 "special effects" grenades. Maybe not the anti riot version you have.
