The genade has a hole of center on the bottom with a small nut and bolt attaching it to the base. that would have to be repaired
I've dissasembled it to have it checked by a buddy of mine to determan if it was chromed or nickeled
He determined it was chromed and said a nitric acid bath would remove the chrome I'm just afraid of damaging
the body.

Congrats you out did me on this one my internet hiccoped in the last seconds you got a hell of a deal good job

Question now is should i leave it chromed as is and mounted or refurb it?

Leave it chromed, it is part of the history of that particular grenade. Refurb it and you have no history, just a refurbished Beano.

Story has it it was a presentation to the inventor. Though no way to verify it but it did come from Rochester NY home of Eastman Kodak
It would be nice to find a picture of it on his desk or something to authenticate it. I may remont it and leave it as is. The main thing is I scored a Beano Now on to find a twist lever for my MK1

If i remember right there was a guy on ebay who sold a beano and he also had a chromed one which he kept .his grandfather worked for eastman kodak .i think theres a thread with some info regarding it.just a thought.
