What is the significance, if any, of the two fin designs of the German SD-4 bomb? In Madbomber31's picture, http://www.bocn.co.uk/vbforum/attachments/CIMG0690.JPG
you can see that most bombs have a complete cylindrical part but in a few the cylinder has circular sections missing (as in my picture).

Good question Tony.
Mebbe its materiel saving during the latter war years? Anything to save metal?
The new design may even have stabilised the bomb better in flight?
