Couldnt find an appropriate catagory for sea mines so thought I would try here. I am after any technical information about electrically fired sea mines - electro-contact mines - used for harbour defence in the late 1800s. I have read much about harbour defence in Sleeman and Bucknill etc and the US submarine miners manual but there appears to be little info or diagramatic info on the working of these mines. Can anyone point me in the right direction as I want to know exactly how they operated and what went on inside these devices.
