Sectioned No. 80 fuze

Picked up this nice quarter sectioned No. 80 fuze from the UK recently.

Nothing special about a No.80 Mk VII fuze, but I was surprised with the quality and accuracy of the milling job. The milling is so precise and exactly in the centre of the fuze to the extent that even the point of the steel spike is perfectly quarter sectioned!

This appears to be a contemporary WW1 job and possibly even factory produced.

The maker is the Gramophone Company (the forerunner to HMV), and being an all-brass Mk VII would be of 1917 or 1918 manufacture.

A very nice item and Im well pleased to acquire it.

Nice example. A milling machine and a fine slitting saw will do a perfect job, you can even do something with the 1/4 section that is removed, so you can have two examples.
