Shell ID. odd shape

I know this is a Vickers sons and maxim 2.pdr but I would like more information on the other markings what gun it would be used in and any info on the strange shaped projectile.

The stamp CF means ,,Cordit filled ,,it indicates which powder was used in this shell case !!!

Calibre and maker as you say.
Case made in 1917
CF is Cordite Full Charge (not Cordite Filled)
N with Broad Arrow is naval acceptance stamp
1.2.18 is date of filling

Primer is No.5 Mark I
Made by KN, Kings Norton Metals and Munitions Co.Ltd., Birmingham
7/15 date of manufacture.

Its a 2 PR Naval capped practice projectile. There should be some stampings on the body including 2 PR P & a date.

A nice round and not too common. Yet another round I'll have to keep a look out for!

I cannon see any marking on the body but it has some corrosion,is there any reason the projectile has such an odd shape?.
