Shell or Mortar?

Hi,

The above Shell or Mortar has a hole running straight through the body and poss striker mech which could be for a safety pin? It has a flash channel through what remains of the body and looks to have poss individual smoke or illum pots inside. The nose was covered in a thin copper or tin cap poss for either weatherproofing or aerodynamics?

I would appreciate any assistance with identifying this.
