Does anyone know who SMI stands for in landmine manufacturing? All I have is the lot number with that in it, no pictures.

LOT 03-SMI-91

Thanks,

Joe

It could be Sudsteirische Metallindustrie Gmbh (Hirtenberger group I believe), an austrian firm heavily involved in landmines production, mainly standoff AP and AT mines.

SMI is also an italian firm (Stabilimento Metallurgico Italiano) but it was never involved in landmine production, in my knowledge.

What's about Societa Metallurgica Italiana, Florence (Firence)/Italy?
I don't know if they are/were involved in landmine production, but they made lots of ammo.

Right, I guess !

Italian SMI is "Societ Metallurgica Italiana", not in Florence but in Campo Tizzoro, Pistoia (Tuscany of course).
