So what happened to BOCN?

I'm not sure about everyone else, but my computer couldn't find BOCN for about 24 hours (Sunday night to Monday night) my time. I received no notifications of postings, and there were very few postings when it did come back up. So, I'm thinking I'm not the only one that couldn't find it.

Does anyone know what happened?

You were not alone, the forum was down for a few hours. Not sure of the reason why as yet but imagine it was not something that could be helped. All bqck up and seems good now.

Hi All


Unfortunately the server BOCN was victim of a rather serious attack on Sunday, not just affecting BOCN but the entire server which also manages emails for people and a number of other websites.

As the issue was widespread the Internet Service Provider had to block the IP to prevent further problems arising.

I believe I discovered the root of the attack preventing this particular one happening again.

Sorry for the downtime I imagine you must have thought that was the end of BOCN!

Yes, that's true ! Such an unpleasant incident everytime shows the special importance of the daily look on BOCN for many long-standing members. The forum has become a fixed component of live for them .... me included. :tinysmile_shy_t:
