Some German 7.92 additions (AP?)

Hi,

I got some additions to my collection in the post over the last couple of days and was wondering if I have correctly identified the head stamps. Would anyone be able to confirm if they are all armour pericing? 3 case are brass in good condition and 1 is copper washed with a black tip, but the bullet and neck of the copper washed case have been badly marked with a set of pliers.

Headstamps are:

  • P131 V111g1 44 40 (copper washed with black tip and red primer)
Deutsche Waffen u. Munitionsfabriken A.-G., Berlin-Borsigwalde, Germany

Batch 44 1940
  • P163 S* 4 39 (brass with red primer)
Metallwarenfabrik Treuenbritzen G.m.b.H., Werk Selterhof, Germany

batch 4 1939
  • P S* 122 36 (brass with red primer)
Polte, Werk Magdeburg, Magdeburg, Germany

Batch 122 1936
  • P S* 124 36 (brass with red primer)
Polte, Werk Magdeburg, Magdeburg, Germany
batch 124 1936

Also are there any particular headstamps to look out for?

Thanks
Archmoco

You are right.

The only thing I could ad is; the steel from your P131 came from; ( VIII ) Dortmund-Hrder Httenverein, Werk Union Dortmund and the cup was made by; ( g ) Hirsch Kupfer und Messingwerke, Werk Finnow/Mark, The analyses of the steel is ( 1 ) C 0,15 - 0,22 %, Mn 0,4%, Si 0,12%, P 0,03%, S 0,03%

Black tip 7.92mm

Just to add to the previous posts, your round with the black tip is an S.m.K L'spur tracer.

Also, and sorry to be boring, I must caution that armour piercing projectiles are prohibited under Section 5 of the Firearms Act even if the round is inert.
