Have got one or two of these somewhere - mounted on the inside of the radio hatch on a Spitfire IIRC - may take me a while to find them though! Probably similar plates on other aircraft - centre of gravity would be easily upset on a single seat fighter and radios where heavy lumps in those days, so was an important consideration.
