Sorting through my Small arms ammunition...

Hello again,

I'm hoping someone can tell me what the cartridge in the middle is??

The one at the bottom is a standard NATO 5.56mm and the top one is a .222 but the middle one is much smaller, the case was made by Radway Green in 1987.

The third pic is my small arms collection :)

Thanks again,

Ben.

is the bullet in the middle on first pic 4.5mm caliber and what is case length?

Rg 81

It is somebody's handload, made by necking down a normal RG made L2A2 5.56mm case. The necking down has shortened the case from the normal 45mm to approximately 44mm.

Unfortunately, nothing very exciting.

it is most likley to be a .17 Mach IV home load, a nice round to add to a collection of hunting rounds though

i think it is a bullet for bench rest shooting, home loaded in .17 cal.
