South African .50 Browning Dummy

An early, most probably pre - 1970, .50 Browning Dummy made by Pretoria Metal Pressings, South Africa.

What I found strange about this round is that normally there would have been a date of manufacture and also that it is a dummy and not a drill.

Can only think that it was made solely for display purposes.

It could have been made as a display sample for a trade show or similar event. The lack of a date could also mean that the case was for the commercial market.
