Got this one in the other day and then began looking for information I had found some time ago but now seem unable to locate . Anyone seen one of these red painted URG-N'S? Russian, I believe, but have only seen the black ones.

That isnot original russian marking. Maybe some other Warszaw pact country or sometimes people repaint grenade body in bright colour for easier to find after practice throwing. Maybe under red colour on the grenade body can see some signes, that originally colour wasnot red.

I did find this in Lex's sight (thanx for such fantastic sure BTW) it's got the red ( (?) painted lever/ring with RGD5 type body with what I think is designated practice. I think your dead on Trrr about a UGR-N body simply being painted to make finding the damn thing easier.

Lever red colour paint can be original.
Long time ago I repaint F-1 practice grenades for that reason, therefore I have that version.

Thanks for your help Trrrr!
Would you mind looking at and earlier post of my titled "Need help with practice (?) grenade"
And tell me what you think about it. Спасибо за помощь!

Could that be a Bulgarian ? The reason why is 'cause Numrich got in a large lot of Bulgy red F-1 and RGDs ( red painted ) some time ago and now gone !
